, born 6/7/1848; died 5/5/1887 in Hoylake. Married James Crossfield Bell on 29 December 1869 . Elizabeth and James had 6 children:1. Evelyn Mary Bell, 17/11/1869 - 16/10/1954

2. Kate Weaver Hanmer, born 6/9/1849; died 5/5/1896 in London. Married Alexander Mackillop on 4 June 1874. Kate and Alexander had 5 children:
1. Sarah Margaret Mackillop, 17/2/1876 - 14/10/1947.
2. Agnes Hanmer Mackillop, 26/7/1877 - 4/6/1908.
3. Kate Meredith ("Merrie") Mackillop, born 4 December 1879, married Rev James Hogg on 3 September 1914.
4. Archibald Hanmer Mackillop, 17/11/1881 - 2/6/1949. He married Margaret Jane Moore on 7 April 1914 and they had one daughter, Elizabeth Hanmer Mackillop, born 16/2/1915. She didn't marry.
5. Dora Elizabeth Mackillop, 2/4/1888 - 9/9/1928.
I have a sampler stitched by Kate Weaver Hanmer in 1860 when she was 10 or 11 years old. This was given to my Grandmother, Margaret Hanmer (nee Murray) by Merrie Mackillop in 1962 as she was keen for it to be retained in the Hanmer branch of the family.
3. Sarah Agnes Hanmer, born 4/4/1852; died 18/7/1917 in Huelgoat, Brittany. Married the Reverend C James Jenkins on 9 June 1885 at Prescot in Lancashire by the Reverend Hugh Stowell Brown More stuff on him on the website. When James died on 3 May 1896 the couple had barely been married for 11 years. They had two children.
1. The first, James Hanmer Jenkins was born on 11 October 1887. He didn't live to see his first birthday, dying on 5 September 1888.
2. The second child, Charles Hanmer Jenkins was born on 16 October 1889. He married Constance Freda Hopper on 5 May 1915. They had 4 children: (i) Owen Hanmer Jenkins, born 8 April 1916, married Teneza on 10 July 1954; (ii) Graham Charles Jenkins, born 1 September 1917, who changed his name to Hanmer by deed poll. He married Edwina Butson on 30 December 1946, but divorced her in the early 1950s; (iii) Philip Henry Jenkins, born 28 February 1920, married Judith Harrison on 18 October 1947. They had 2 children, Penelope Anne, born 21 July 1948; and Annette Dale, born 12 October 1954; (iv) Ruth Jeannette, born 16 May 1925.
4. Dora Emily Hanmer, born 14/6/1853; died 24 Jan 1915. Didn't marry.
5. John Marsden Hanmer, born 6/8/1854; died 7/9/1909 in Birkenhead. Married Pattie Nessie Stuart on 12 April 1882. They had a son, Stuart Hanmer, who married Lillian Townsend in 1916. Stuart died on 26 May 1945. Stuart and Lillian Hanmer had two children, Pattie Ida Hanmer, born 6/10/1918; and Marsden Townsend Hanmer born 11/1/1920. Marsden Townsend Hanmer was killed in action on 7 June 1942 in Africa. He was awarded the Military Cross. He is buried in Knightsbridge War Cemetery in Acroma, Lybia.

7. Evelyn Meredith Hanmer, born 24/1/1859; died 7/8/1859, aged six months, at Great Meols near Hoylake. She is interred in Smithdown Lane Cemetery.
8. Amy Tilston Hanmer, 24/3/1861 - ?/11/1934. Married John Stuart in Liverpool on 10 November 1881. Amy and John Stuart had three children. (i) Marjorie ("Madge") Stuart, born in 1882, (ii) John Hanmer Stuart and (iii) Kathleen Stuart.
9. Arthur Benjamin Hanmer, born 12/1/1863; died exactly one month later on 12/2/1863 in the Liverpool Sailors' Home. He is interred in Smithdown Lane Cemetery.
10. Herbert Lewis Hanmer, 28/7/1865 - ? (died in the USA?). Married Dora Hanmer (cousin and daughter of Jeremiah and Eliza Hanmer). They had a daughter, Ethel.
11. Lilian Meredith Hanmer, 14/11/1867 - 14/12/1925. Married Lewis Baldwin, July 1889. They had three children: Eric, Reginald and Anthony.
